CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism)

When the EU will enforce the measure of Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: CBAM), which effective from 1st October 2023 onwards. If the production process and export of Thai products to the European market emits high amounts of greenhouse gases, it will be charged a "carbon tax" at a high rate accordingly. The pilot will begin with 6 product categories that have high levels of greenhouse gas emissions first which are Cement, Iron & Steel, Aluminium, Fertilizer, Electricity and Hydrogen.

Even today, this measure will not yet be enforced on industrial groups of plastics and rubber. But there is a chance that it will be enforced in the future. Therefore, it is something that should be awarded to and preparation.
