THE PERFECT BATTERY: PUMPED STORAGE HYDROPOWER

Pumped Storage Hydropower (PSH) is a type of hydroelectric energy storage. It is reliable, rechargeable, and environmentally friendly. It is a configuration of two water reservoirs at different elevations that can generate power as water moves down from one to the other (discharge), passing through a turbine. This is a low-cost energy storage system when compared to other types and is used for large power systems. It is considered the most efficient electrical energy management option which helps reduce the amount of carbon dioxide generated from the power generation process and is able to respond to the rapidly increasing demand for electricity to maintain the stability of the power system.
